| Sumario: | This article describes the evolution and evaluation of a workshop for students undertaking the DipHE and BSc(Hons) in learning disability nursing and BMid(Hons) midwifery programmes. The main focus of the workshop was sexual health needs, with a particular focus on contraception. Aimed at broadening students' knowledge, understanding and awareness of sharing their learning and understanding of people with learning disabilities, the workshop used a form of blended learning including case studies. As a result, the students agreed that interprofessional working was of utmost importance when delivering care to people with learning disabilities and that two distinct student and professional groups should share learning experiences to explore such sensitive subjects. This article demonstrates how interprofessional education can benefit students, lecturers and clients alike.
