| Sumario: | The purpose of the research, 'Ethical Problems Experienced by Persons with AIDS,' was to describe and examine the basic nature and content of ethical problems involving AIDS for persons with AIDS. The diverse participants consisted of 25 persons with AIDS and 5 significant persons, included for contextual understanding. A federal Confidentiality Certificate and name changes protect their confidentiality. The basic nature of the 117 ethical problems consisted of conflict, resolution, and rationale. Ten content categories emerged: Alcohol/drugs, chronic illness, death, discrimination, finances/ business, health care, personhood, relationships, service, and sexuality. Sage Publications, Inc., published the research as a book, Living With AIDS: Experiencing Ethical Problems. This article, reprinted from the book, reports the participants' ethical problems involving personhood.
