| Sumario: | IN 1999, the Connecticut Colleagues in Caring Team, led by the Connecticut League for Nursing, conducted a pilot study 'to identify how the practices, methodologies, and strategies used in RN nurse education programs changed in the previous five years and were expected to change in the next five years' (1, p. 6). The NLN commissioned a national study, with Helen J. Streubert Speziale, EdD, RN, as primary investigator, in response to a recommendation from the pilot study that a national study be conducted. Following is a synopsis of the study commissioned by the NLN. An expanded report will be avail-able in the next few months that will provide specific information on trends by program type and offer substantive recommendations for future action.
