| Summary: | This article concerns the implementation of a bar code system in an I.V. department. The I.V. team was disbanded in 1984 and 1985. The team was brought back but it was a struggle to maintain staff and deliver quality, comprehensive I.V. services. With the implementation of the bar code system, nursing productivity could be demonstrated. The I.V. department now generates revenue of significant magnitude, and productivity can be proved with the new bar code system. |
