El presente documento plantea algunos aspectos relevantes en cuanto a la problemática que ha surgido en Latinoamérica con relación la necesidad de aprender el idioma inglés; también, se hace un recorrido por los diferentes momentos, metodologías y estrategias de la enseñanza de esta lengua; al igual que el análisis de las dificultades más frecuentes en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje del inglés, los que permite hacer conciencia de nuestra posición frente al mundo y de analizar qué decisión se puede tomar en el aula de clase para sobrepasar las dificultades.
