ab: Different sectors and different business types reveal different working groups in working life. These different groups of employees are identified with colours and expressed in the form of blue-collar, white-collar and gold-collar employees. However, it is remarkable to see that it is lack of research related to blue-collar employees in the management and organization discipline especially in the academic studies of organizational behaviour and human resource management. The study constitutes the starting point of this case. With this study, firstly it is aimed to identify the presence of this condition and then to determine the factors that affect the sampling preferences of academicians and especially why they prefer or not blue-collar employees as the sample. In this context, 320 papers within congress proceedings, that take part in the field of HRM and organizational behaviour in the "National Management and Organization Congress" which has an important place in the development of management and organization discipline in Turkey, are subjected to content analysis. At the second stage the factors that affect the sampling preference of the academicians in this field are tried to be determined through an open-ended questionnaire. At this stage, 107 academicians have participated. The first stage of the research reveals that quantitative method and in this context the questionnaire as data collection is prioritized. And also it reveals that blue-collar employees are not preferred within the sampling process. The second stage suggest that academicians do not prefers blue-collar employees as sample due to research design and various difficulties encountered as working with blue-collar participants.
