Instead, it argues in favour of situating nation-building efforts in a broader trans-regional, transnational, and global perspective. It offers an example of a crossregional approach: an enquiry-based learning module that compares resistance to Confederation in the Maritimes and Manitoba. Cet article est une critique du paradigme des Pères de la Confédération dans l'histoire canadienne. L'auteure propose plutôt de situer le travail de construction de la nation dans la perspective plus vaste du contexte transrégional, transnational et mondial. L'article offre un exemple d'approche transrégionale, sous la forme d'un module d'apprentissage fondé sur l'enquête qui compare l'opposition à la Confédération dans les Maritimes et au Manitoba. |
