Methods: A questionnaire survey was con-ducted among 429 undergraduate nursing students in a Medical University in Tianjin by self -- study Readiness Scale, academic self efficacy scale and problem solving questionnaire. Results: The score of autonomous learning readiness of nursing undergraduates was 149.98±15.73, academic self efficacy score was 76.26±8.16. The score of problem solving ability was 85.14±10.08. The degree of autonomous learning readiness of nursing undergraduates was positively related to academic self -- efficacy and problem -- solving ability (P<0.01), autonomous learning readiness had a direct impact on the improvement of problem -- solving ability, and academic self -- efficacy played a partial mediating role in the relationship between autonomous learning readiness and problem -- solving ability.
