Sumario:The views on the problem of relationships between a teacher and students in the university by representatives of world famous «Lviv-Warsaw School» (LWS) (1895-1939) has been disclosed in the article. The author discovered that LWS representatives considered relationships between a university teacher and students more individual than relationships between a teacher and secondary school pupils. Relationships between a university teacher and students are based on moral culture that involves respect, trust, friendship, and love. These relationships go beyond formal ones; they personalize the appointment between people who have a common interest. These people are mentally united by the desire for truth which motivates them to self-organization and mutual creativity. In this case leadership and subordination will mean the destruction of university mental life. The author emphasizes that despite the opportunities of current book printing LWS representatives did not consider a lecture something needless in the university as it introduces to student the living world of science, represented by figures of their university teachers. Teacher’s alive word has hundred times more chances to capture students by its scientific creativity than lifeless book knowledge can do it.
