Sumario:Although a picture book auction at the start of this year's Bologna Children's Book Fair suggested a more confident approach to that genre after several difficult years for publishers, fiction remains the star performer in children's publishing. Acquisitions at Bologna were focused on new voices and one-off titles, with publishers taking a much more strategic approach to property development and acquisitions. Francesca Dow, managing director at Puffin, says that globally publishers are seeking distinctive one-off titles and new names in both picture books and fiction.
