| Sumario: | The article refers to embarkation of a new computer application in newspaper agencies. Development of computer programs to retrieve and store data, to access wide range of data etc. was attempted by graduate students at the University of Texas at Austin. Although the students concentrated their efforts on developing a practical newsroom, applications also found possible utility for their programs in the journalism classroom. Such computer programs may be instructive for advanced undergraduates, even if only to motivate them toward innovative approaches to newswriting and news processing, and to increase in the new technology.
