| Sumario: | The COVID-19 pandemic created many challenges and opportunities in higher education. Nursing faculty were forced to reevaluate, refocus, and rapidly institute changes during the middle of spring semester 2020. With students dismissed for spring break, nursing faculty worked endlessly behind the scenes to ensure that didactic and clinical goals would be met upon their return. Paradigm shifts were inevitable and required nursing faculty to transition innovative active learning strategies to the virtual learning environment. Embedded with adult teaching and learning pedagogies, nursing faculty chose and utilized 13 Cs: courage, commitment, care, compassion, communication, competence, creativity, continuity, cognition, comprehension, critical thinking, clarification, and circle of support during the chaos of COVID-19 to help ensure students' completion of curricula.
