Sumario:The building form considers solar gains with the large roof overhangs providing solar shading and optimisation of daylight (annual lux hours) in balance with sensitive elements within the collection. The concrete substructure and frame are heavily infused with GGBS -- 36 per cent for the structural frame and 15 per cent for the Double T long-span floor construction elements. Windermere Jetty Museum, Cumbria by Carmody Groarke The museum's design was informed by a number of passive measures so as to sit lightly in the landscape and consume minimal energy during operation. The building fabric is designed to ultra-low U-values with airtight construction to minimise energy need and energy loss.
