Methodology: the quantitative approach with correlational design was used, with a sample of 94 directors of educational institutions in Metropolitan Lima. Results: the extracted data were processed using the SPSS 26 software and a correlation of 0. 778 was obtained between the two study variables. Conclusion: there is a considerable positive relationship between executive leadership and emotional competencies in COViD-19 times. Introducción: Un líder es capaz de afrontar satisfactoriamente situaciones difíciles y asumir retos ante lo desconocido como fue la pandemia que originó la aparición del COVID-19. Objetivo: determinar la relación entre el liderazgo directivo y las competencias emocionales en tiempos de COVID-19. Metodología: se empleó el enfoque cuantitativo con diseño correlacional, con una muestra de 94 directores de instituciones educativas de Lima Metropolitana. Resultados: los datos extraídos fueron procesados mediante el software de SPSS 26 y se obtuvo una correlación de 0. 778 entre las dos variables de estudio.
