AVALIAÇÃO DA TÉCNICA INALATÓRIA DE ASMÁTICOS COM USO PREVIAMENTE CORRETO DE DISPOSITIVOS INALATÓRIOS.
Introduction: Errors in the inhalation technique (IT) are frequent and compromise asthma control. Objective: to evaluate the quality of the IT of patients who demonstrated the adequate form in a previous study. Objective: to evaluate the quality of the IT of patients who demonstrated the adequate form in a previous study. Method: Patients who demonstrated correct IT in a study previously carried out at the same location, the Hospital Universitário Antônio Pedro da UFF, were invited to demonstrate their IT using empty inhalation devices (ID). The IT quality of the sample and its association with sociodemographic data, level of asthma control, type of ID in use, time of ID use, and medical guidelines for use were studied. Results: Twenty-three patients were included, 19 (82.6%) female, with a mean of 64 (SD ± 9,2) years. All reported have been teached from their doctor and 21 (91.3%) used ID for at least 2 years. Four (17.4%) were users of metered-dose inhaler (MDI), the rest used dry powder ID. Eleven (47.8%) had controlled asthma and the IT was performed incorrectly by 5 (21.7%) of the sample. Incorrect IT association with the use of MDI was demonstrated (p = 0.02). Conclusion: It is important to maintain IT quality supervision even in patients who present it properly at a previous opportunity, especially among MDI users Introdução: Erros na técnica inalatória (TI) são frequentes e comprometem o controle da asma. Conclusão: É importante manter supervisão da qualidade da TI mesmo nos pacientes que a apresentem adequadamente em oportunidade anterior, especialmente entre os usuários de AD. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: Portuguese refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: Y custom: Copyright of Brazilian Journal of Surgery & Clinical Research is the property of Master Editora and its content may not be copied or emailed to multiple sites without the copyright holder's express written permission.
