| Sumario: | The article focuses on the Confucian classic Great Learning and its eight aims, examining the sequence among these aims and their interpretations. Topics include the ideals for the mission of Great Learning; different interpretations of the eight aims; and the nature of the sequence in achieving them. The author proposes a developmental and concurrent temporal progression for pursuing these aims throughout one's life, drawing on German-American psychologist Erik Erikson's developmental theory. |
