Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) affects around 5% of children and adults worldwide (Polanczyk et al., [37]; Simon et al., [44]) and is characterised by inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity (American Psychiatric Association, [2]). Results Sample Characteristics Participants were divided into three groups (Table 1): healthy controls (HC, I n i = 125), ADHD/medicated (ADHD-M, I n i = 70) and ADHD/unmedicated (ADHD-U, I n i = 42).
