Sumario:The article presents an interview with the video artist Benny Ramsay. In "I Am a Boyband, Ramsay rearranges Dowland's music wtth a pop-synch backbeat and then plays all four members of a boyband. His versatility is apparent in the distinct personalities that emerge in the performances. What is most challenging for Ramsay is his intended move away from what he calls the safety net of video performance to the uncertainties and vulnerabilities of live performance. Taking the day as a structural frame, Ramsay performs soundbites from 1000 songs, which he organizes in thematic clusters. He did a degree in cultural studies at New York University, he had very inspiring professors and read a lot about the performance of gender and representation.
