| Sumario: | A quasi-experimental pre-post design was used to test whether the Understanding and Communicating with Older People e-learning module improves student nurses' perceptions about older adults and their attitudes towards working with them. A feedback survey was administered to capture participants' views on the e-learning activity and any suggestions they had for optimizing it. The sample consisted of 221 participants. Pre-post comparisons indicated a statistically significant decrease in ageist attitudes, as measured by the Ambivalent Ageism Scale and the Perceptions of Caring for Older People Scale. Analysis of the feedback survey indicated that participants found that the module improved their knowledge, confidence, and perceptions regarding caring for older adults and that the activity was enjoyable. Feedback from the openended question indicated that participants gained a new perspective, liked the style/structure, and a few had suggestions for improvement. The module can be used to ensure that nursing students have sufficient gerontological knowledge and to counteract negative role modeling they encounter in their training. Further research is needed to refine the timing of the module's implementation, explore its transferability to other provinces and examine its implementation with other healthcare professions working with older adults.
