The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between students' learning behaviors and self-regulated learning and the effect of students' self-regulated learning on their learning performance. This study employed a pre-experiment and a single-group, posttest design with a 4-month research period. The research participants were 44 social work students of a community work course at a university in Taiwan. The results of this study indicated that in self-regulated learning, case-based teaching videos had a positive effect on the learning motivation of all students and the information processing of students who achieved high scores in the final exam. Viewing case-based teaching videos enhanced the students' academic performance. When the videos matched the personal experience of and aroused empathy among the students, their learning motivation increased. Academic performance improved when the videos were linked to practical experience, clarified confusing concepts, and could be watched multiple times. Discussions and suggestions regarding the design of case-based teaching videos and the relationship between students' learning behaviors and self-regulated learning are presented. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
