A study involving 28 participants who typically slept less than 7 hours per night showed that after extending their sleep by one hour for two weeks, they reported longer sleep duration and improved sleep quality. Results indicated that while participants walked slower during dual-tasking compared to single-tasking, their gait speed improved in both conditions after sleep extension. The findings suggest that increased sleep may enhance single-task gait function, but it does not appear to affect cognitive load during multitasking.
