Sumario:This article deals with collected memories and renderings of the past, and more specifically with examples of "recovered" memories of ancient Spanish, not Roman, customs, usage, and laws that were later deployed in an effort to reinforce the "historical" privileges of the king. We must wonder whether the past was objectively reconstructed based on new discoveries; or did subjective preconceived attitudes demand a specific past?
