| Sumario: | This article discusses the requirements of an individualized reading program. The teacher's first responsibility in instituting an individualized reading program is to use a variety of means and techniques to assess the reading level of each child and to diagnose each child's individual skill development needs. Commonly used techniques and instruments are formal reading tests and informal teacher-made tests as well as observing and listening to children read. At this point, a teacher will begin to establish an individual reading record for each child. |
