| Sumario: | The review discusses Friederike Danebrock’s dissertation *On Making Fiction: Frankenstein and the Life of Stories*, which deals with the complex interactions between literary production and cultural reproduction using the example of the Frankenstein material. Danebrock analyzes various adaptations of Mary Shelley’s novel across film, theater, and series, developing a theoretical framework that understands form, information, and potentials as a dynamic interplay. The focus is not on the meaning of the monster, but on how Frankenstein functions as a practice of storytelling and how producers, recipients, and fictional beings are connected in a reciprocal process of transformation. The work combines diverse philosophical approaches and offers innovative perspectives on narrativity, seriality, and adaptation, especially through the examination of the material corporeality of the monster and the paradoxical temporality of serial narratives.
