EHSAS addresses the impracticality of comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) by enabling efficient, under-12-minute screening across 12 health domains, with high negative predictive value to rule out those not needing referral. While promising for integration into primary care and alignment with the World Health Organization’s Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE) framework, the tool’s effectiveness depends on the availability of care pathways and workforce capacity to act on screening results. Further research is needed to validate EHSAS across diverse settings and assess its impact on health outcomes in LMICs. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
