Sumario:The article focuses on the development of "Jiuzhang 4.0," a programmable quantum computing prototype created by Chinese scientists at the University of Science and Technology of China. This prototype set a new world record in optical quantum information technology by solving the Gaussian boson sampling problem at a speed over 10^54 times faster than the most powerful classical supercomputer. Jiuzhang 4.0 manipulated and detected quantum states involving up to 3,050 photons, significantly surpassing the previous version's 255 photons. The Jiuzhang series uses photonic quantum bits and has achieved multiple breakthroughs in demonstrating quantum computational advantage since its initial construction in 2020.
