Sumario:This article evaluates the implementation of Systems Training for Emotional Predictability and Problem Solving (STEPPS) within routine psychiatric care across three Norwegian district centers, focusing on its feasibility and associated clinical outcomes. The study reports significant symptom improvement based on self-reported measures in a clinically heterogeneous cohort with high baseline severity, though the uncontrolled design and reliance on self-assessment limit causal conclusions about STEPPS’s therapeutic efficacy. The findings suggest STEPPS can be pragmatically delivered in geographically dispersed mental health services, especially where specialized personality disorder treatments are scarce, but recommend further research incorporating objective functional outcomes and comparative benchmarks to clarify which patient subgroups benefit most. Overall, the article contributes valuable real-world service-delivery data while emphasizing the need for more rigorous evaluation to determine STEPPS’s specific clinical impact.
