The article focuses on the Spanish publication of two dialogues by Lorenzo Valla, "De libero arbitrio" and "De professione religiosorum," fully translated by Mariano Vilar and published by Las cuarenta in Buenos Aires in 2025. These works address complex theological topics such as the relationship between divine foreknowledge and free will, as well as the validity and meaning of monastic vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience. The edition includes a detailed introductory study that contextualizes Valla's life and work during the Quattrocento, in addition to offering a philological and comparative analysis of the texts. The translation and critical apparatus contribute to the development of Renaissance studies in Argentina and broaden access to early modern moral philosophy in the Spanish language.
