Finally, a conception of the social welfare function based on the common good is developed. En este artículo se propone una noción de bienestar social fundado en el bien común. Para ello se argumenta a favor de una hipótesis de trabajo que posibilite el vínculo entre ética y economía en general, y una fundamentación del bienestar social en el bien común en particular. Se expone los elementos centrales de la ética de la ley natural, los bienes humanos básicos y los principios de razonabilidad práctica, y las diversas concepciones del bien común.
