| Sumario: | The purpose of this paper is to measure the effects of the consultation method that includes teaching and practicing the mand-modelling technique to teachers and parents to improve the communication skills of children with autism. Multiple probe design, which is one of the single-case research designs, was used in the study. The findings of this research show that families with children with autism can be successful in improving their children's limited verbal communication skills through receiving training in milieu teaching techniques that parents receive from their children's teachers and perform in parallel with their teachers. The results showed that using the consultation method to teach the mand-modelling technique to special education teachers by ensuring that the family participates in the education is effective in developing pragmatic language in children with autism. |
