Through an analysis of the narrative structure and the symbolism underlying the stages traversed by the central character in the epic "The Odyssey", I propose an interpretation of the initiatory journey as a process of transition between worlds, through which the hero, situated in a state of marginality, becomes an agent of spiritual and cultural regeneration.
