While this type of discourse falls within the broader category of political discourse sub-genres, alongside inaugural and deliberative discourse (POPA, 2023, p. 82-83), we also propose a new classification within diplomatic discourse, distinguishing between proper diplomatic discourse (delivered in traditional, classic diplomatic settings) and public diplomatic discourse (presented in contexts such as interviews, press conferences, etc.).
