| Sumario: | This article compares the data processing methods used in large-scale projects fifteen or twenty years ago with currently available methods in the U.S. In 1940, the National Teacher Examination Program was introduced which involved the scoring of tests from a large number of testing centers over the U.S. In 1957, a large-scale, long-range educational research program known as Project TALENT was initiated. The processing of the data included a number of important improvement over data processing in the earlier projects. It was noted that there has been tremendous improvement in procedures for collecting the original data as discussed in the review and comparison of data-processing.
