Sumario:The article focuses on the methods used to evaluate the performance of teachers in the U.S. There were three methods used to assess teacher's performance namely subjective method, aggregate method, and individual method. According to the author, subjective evaluation cannot be interpreted specifically or reliably, aggregate evaluation is counter-productive as traditionally employed and works directly against evaluation for the improvement of teaching, while individual evaluation is the most informative procedure. The author also suggested that subjective, aggregate and individual methods of teacher evaluation have particular applications and each method are compatible with each other.
