      ab: This article evaluates some new curricula meant to the study of elementary science in the schools of the United States. The author expresses his disappointment and frustration on the present system of science education. He is a bit discouraged to observe that the education system or elementary schools still have gardening, geography, nature study and elementary science. He is wondered to see that in some schools there is no program of science and in many others the time made available for science is very inadequate. In order to counter these deficiencies in the teaching of science some new programs and initiatives have appeared on the horizon. These programs generally take a leaf from the book of the mathematics teachers. Also, there are many modifications in approach to the continuous program of teaching science in schools. One of the extension of the continuous program ideas had its roots deep in the general science program. The program contained the use of major areas of environment to which the pupils adjust and with which they have personal or vicarious relationships.
