Summary:	The article features attention and distractibility behaviors in mentally retarded and intellectually average children in the U.S. Five groups of retarded and average-intelligence subjects were given with the Continuous Performance Test of attention with and without distraction. Groups were arranged according to its sufficiency of total performance level. Results showed more lapses of attention among retarded groups and less affected by distraction compared to the nonretarded subjects.
