| Sumario: | The article features the present status of developmental and remedial reading programs at the college level. Reading is a tool used to gain understanding of personal and social responsibilities and a tool to gain personal breadth and adjustment. Reading as a technique of learning and self-development can be greatly improved even after students reach college. Every college faces the task of devising a reading program both remedial and developmental. The remedial or corrective phase should be handled by a specialist in the field of reading who is also a student counselor or clinical psychologist. The developmental program is best handled by each faculty member as they aid their students to efficient learning in their specialized field. |
