Jacksonville has been a pioneer in special education, the teachers of the mentally handicapped have been working together to build an integrated developmental program. The children are divided into primary, intermediate, junior high, and high school, their curriculum is based on their experience areas, physical and mental health, homebuilding, social relations, and occupational education.
