| Summary: | The article presents a study on the fourth research paradigms in addition to the paradigms of Ausubel, Gagné and Piaget. The fourth paradigm developed was the information processing psychology paradigm, one which served as a guide on science education research. This paradigm developed emphasis among science educators that knowledge played a vital role in learning and solving mathematical problems. The study suggested that the model should be further developed as it mainly focused on the area of research which was often neglected. |
