| Sumario: | The article focuses on Operation CURriculum in DEVelopmental Mathematics, a program of elementary school mathematics in the U.S. The program involved basic rethinking in the area of arithmetic, as well as reorganized remedial drill procedures. The method of research used in this program has been characterized as Action or Developmental Research. The program has four phases, phase one involves study, critical evaluation and synthesis of research in mathematics, phase two involves tryout and experimentation in selected classrooms, phase three involves a teacher training program carried on by supervisors and by Developmental Mathematics teachers and phase four involves a program of continuous evaluation.
