| Sumario: | The examines the textual transmission of Lope de Vega's Sonnet 191 of his poem "Rimas." Studying textual transmission involves understanding how a text is conceived, revised, printed, reprinted, diffused, read, appreciated, and transformed in the process. In order to bring these issues of textual transmission out of the footnotes and into the critical spotlight, the author has chosen to create two "enfolded" versions of the sonnet. The enfolded sonnet reveals the very indefinite nature of the text, allowing readers themselves to unfold distinct versions and interrogate their meanings. |
