| Sumario: | This article stresses that elementary school teachers need to recognize the importance of intentionally targeting the language output of foreign language students. The article discusses language input and output in second-language learning, output as product and process, and the three possible functions of output in the learning process, which include noticing/triggering, hypothesis testing, and metalinguistic/reflective functions. Also evaluated is the process of allowing students to work together in order to solve their problems collectively. |
