| Sumario: | The article examines the revisions made by copyist C. Maier of Tübingen, Germany to the transcript of the "Vercelli Book" included in the Charles Purton Cooper Collection of the Lincoln's Inn Library. The copy opens with a page headed "Beilage zur Beschreibung des Cod. capit. Vercell, n. CXVII." The Beilage to this Beschreibung represents a rough chart indicating the nineteen gatherings the number of sheet contained, the position of the centre of the quire, the numbering of the extant pages and the absence of lost pages. One of Maier's most serious offence was when he was accused of destroying sections of the text of the book by using a reagent designed to bring out the faded letters.
