ab: This section offers news briefs related to science. W. J. Laine of the Finnish societies of Science has observed that the sound waves affect the size and form of raindrops as evidenced by the varying size of rainbows during thunderstorms. A new method of sterilizing railway coaches was developed in Germany using steam, vacuum and the introduction of formaldehyde gas. A method of three color photography was developed using panchromatic emulsions and very small transparent spheroidal grains assembled by embossing gelatin.
