Sumario:The article focuses on the use of digital and media technologies to assist with literacy instruction in elementary education in the U.S. Details are given outlining the examples of the author's own comprehensive integration of laptops into a fourth-grade reading curriculum, describing the teaching strategies adopted, the logistical challenges and benefits, and its positive results. Issues highlighted include the promoting of multiple media literacies and technological education, the use of online blogging and other software resources, and developing appropriate assessment methods.
