Sumario:Part of a special section on employment. Young people will need a variety of skills as they plan their careers for the 21st century. Many of today's young people will hold jobs in their lifetimes that do not even exist at the moment. The best preparation for these jobs may well be a formal liberal arts education combined with skill and specialty development by means of internships, work, or other nonacademic experiences. Some of the jobs that are likely to exist in coming years, including telemedicine technician, telemedicine support assistants, and global work process coordinator, are discussed.
