| Sumario: | A study was conducted to demonstrate two statistical analysis procedures that present options for the analysis of multiple perspectives on the same variable. In order to demonstrate the procedures, the Differentiation in the Family System Scale was used to assess boundary maintenance in the family from the perspectives of three family members. Findings revealed that the first procedure, the multitrait multimethod matrix with correlated uniqueness, suggested that the best model was one in which the six dyadic subscales of the Differentiation in the Family System Scale formed distinct factors using the three perspectives. The second procedure, the triadic social relations model, offered further evidence in agreement wit this suggestion. It was observed that mothers' views tended to be the most shared, whereas fathers' were the least shared. furthermore, it was noted that as one person showed differentiated behavior, the other also tended to elicit the same behavior.
