In order to demonstrate the procedures, the Differentiation in the Family System Scale was used to assess boundary maintenance in the family from the perspectives of three family members. Findings revealed that the first procedure, the multitrait multimethod matrix with correlated uniqueness, suggested that the best model was one in which the six dyadic subscales of the Differentiation in the Family System Scale formed distinct factors using the three perspectives. The second procedure, the triadic social relations model, offered further evidence in agreement wit this suggestion.
