Findings revealed that although a growing number of sports departments have applied ethical codes, beliefs and practices that flout ethical norms still continue. It was also demonstrated that sports editors, particularly those at small-circulation dailies, may adhere to a set of norms not tolerated in other parts of the newsroom.
