Sumario:On November 14, 2006, software giant Microsoft will launch Zune, a music player that looks and works very much like the iPod, Apple Computer's industry-dominating music-player. Zune is tightly coupled to music-library software that runs on a computer and to online music store Zune Marketplace. Essentially, it is a proprietary bundle of hardware, software, and service that is exactly like Apple's iPod-iTunes combination. The initiative marks a strategic shift for Microsoft, which has abandoned the idea of providing enabling software to other firms in favor of Apple's approach of doing everything itself.
